Community Family Radio, Mongolia FEBC Radio station | Community family radio WIND-FM 104.5 is one of the most listened local radio stations in Mongolia. In just a few years, WIND has been recognized by the government of Mongolia as one of two high standard professional radio stations. WIND can potentially reach one million inhabitants in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. In addition to the local audience reached on FM, radio programs produced in WIND-FM’s Ulaanbaatar studios can reach as many as six million Mongolians living in Outer Mongolia and the Chinese Inner Mongolia via FEBC’s shortwave signal from Saipan. FEBC, Far East Broadcasting Company, is an international Christian broadcaster.
The home of WIND-FM burnt down on January 13th, 2003. To replace the building, which was completely destroyed, drawings for a new radio station were prepared free of charge by Christian volunteers in Finland. The new facility is under construction and is scheduled to be finished by May 2008. The entire radio station construction project is being funded through donations. Finnish volunteers with the help of local labor are building it from the ground up.
February 2008. In the photo, Eero Vesin, Ville Hänninen and Jorma Pentikäinen in the front of the new and old radio house. The new building is 98% completed.

| The construction of WIND-FM has been a remarkable wonder of international co-operation. Several countries from the East, and several countries from the West have been 'meeting, cooperating, and working alongside one another' in the midst of North East Asia in an answer to prayer to make a dream become a reality. This May 26th is scheduled as the official inauguration day of the WIND-FM radio building. That means most of the construction work will be completed by then, and the Finnish builders including these in the photos will return to their homes in Finland. About fifty Finnish volunteers have assisted in either the design, the management of the project, or taken part in the many construction labors it has taken to build WIND-FM over the past four and a half years. The Finns have been working side by side with the Mongolian workers as well as with members of FEBC's international team of missionary volunteers from various backgrounds. | | | The WIND-FM radio house will be functional near the end of May, however, your prayers and support will still be needed after inauguration day as some finetuning of the interiors, fencing and the building of a guard shack have yet to be completed.
